Support production operations by performing fabric cutting, providing sewing training, preparing patterns, and conducting basic sewing machine maintenance to ensure efficient and high-quality output
Responsibilities/Duties
- Accurately position patterns on fabric and trace design outlines within designated swatch areas
- Cut fabric pieces precisely according to traced patterns and specifications
- Bundle and prepare cut components for transfer to the sewing department
- Assemble fabric swatches onto pre-printed cardstock, label, package, and prepare materials for shipment
- Assist with fulfillment of swatch cards and other promotional material orders in a timely manner
- Train Fabric Sewers on new product sewing techniques and production processes
- Inspect materials and finished components for quality and report any product defects or documentation discrepancies to the Team Leader or management
- Perform routine mechanical maintenance and basic troubleshooting on sewing machines in accordance with established maintenance schedules
- Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
- Complete the annual CTPAT Security Training
- Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
- Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
- Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
- Must be a team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and honest
- Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
- Read and comprehend work instructions
- Push/Pull/Lift 15 lbs.
- Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
- A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
- Be cross trained for multiple jobs within assigned work area(s)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic working knowledge of Oracle preferred
- At least 5 years of sewing experience in a furniture sewing operation
- At least 3 years of experience safely cutting and trimming materials using electric knives and/or other cutting tools within a manufacturing environment
- At least 1 year of performing preventative maintenance and basic repairs on sewing machines
- Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
