What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sterile Processing Technician position at PRIDE Healthcare?
Pride Health is hiring Sterile Processing Technician to support our client's hospital facility in Menomonee Falls, WI US 53051. This is 12 weeks of contract with possible extension.
Job Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, performs routine tasks related to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
- Collects, sorts, cleans, disinfects, and inspects instruments, supplies, and durable medical equipment.
- Inspects, assembles, wraps, and labels surgical instruments and procedural trays for sterilization and storage.
- Identifies and applies the correct cleaning and sterilization methods for items being processed.
- Operates, monitors, maintains, tests, and documents the use of cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization equipment.
- Performs and documents biological monitoring of all sterilizing equipment.
- Follows established protocols for failed biological indicators.
- Ensures aseptic techniques are used at all times in the handling, preparation, and storage of sterile reusable and disposable supplies.
- Maintains accurate records in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory standards including AAMI, AORN, The Joint Commission, and OSHA.
- Maintains a sanitary, safe, and clean environment within the Sterile Processing Department.
- Delivers processed supplies and equipment to designated hospital departments, as applicable.
- Assists in the Endoscopy Reprocessing Department, as applicable.
- Participates in training and orientation of new employees.
- Reports faulty equipment, safety concerns, and operational deficiencies to Sterile Processing Leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Ability to read and write to comprehend equipment operating instructions, IFUs (Instructions for Use), and complete required documentation.
- Basic arithmetic skills to accurately count instruments and supplies.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and record maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required:
- Education: Highschool or GED or equivalent
- Licensing/Credentialing: CRCST/CSPDT Certification preferred
- Experience: 1 years' of recent Sterile Processing experience

Contract: 12 weeks with possible extension
Shift Time: 5x8 Hour, 3rd 23:00-07:00, rotating holidays
Guaranteed hours: 40 hours
Locals' Pay range: $30 - $35/hour
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, and education.
