We are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality care. The technologist will operate radiologic imaging equipment, prepare patients for examinations, maintain imaging quality standards, and adhere to radiation safety and infection control protocols. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for radiologic examinations.
- Explain procedures, address patient concerns, and promote a positive patient experience.
- Operate radiologic imaging equipment safely and efficiently to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Apply radiation protection and safety measures for patients, staff, and self.
- Review imaging results for quality and make necessary adjustments when needed.
- Accurately document imaging procedures, patient information, and exam completion in electronic records.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Perform routine equipment checks, preventive maintenance activities, and report equipment issues.
- Maintain adequate inventory of imaging supplies and assist with department organization.
- Participate in continuing education and maintain required certifications and competencies.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited JRCERT-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist required.
- Current New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) license required.
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required.
- Current BLS from AHA certification required
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and radiation safety practices.
- Experience with imaging documentation and electronic medical records.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality diagnostic images.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Important Details:
- 13-week contract position (extensions available)
- Shift is 8 hrs/day Mon-Fri (8 AM - 5 PM), 40 hrs/week
- Location is Brooklyn, NY 11012
- Pay Range for Locals: $51 - $56 per hour
- Pay Range for Travelers: $2,500 - $2,550 per week
