POSITION OVERV
IEW:
· Minimum 1 year of healthcare scheduling, medical office, patient access, call center, or related healthcare experi
ence.· Surgical scheduling experience preferred but not requ
ired.· Experience working in a high-volume phone environment prefe
rred.· Experience supporting multiple providers, specialties, or departments is a
plus.
TECHNICAL
SKILLS:
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word,
Excel).· Experience with EMR/EHR systems pr
eferred.· Cerner experience preferred but not r
equired.· Strong computer navigation, data entry, and multitasking
skills.· Ability to quickly learn new systems and wo
rkflows.

KEY RESPON
SIBILITIES:
· Schedule surgical procedures across multiple specialties within the GI Suite and Main Ope
rating Room.· Coordinate inpatient, outpatient, and short-stay surgical
procedures.· Verify insurance eligibility and active coverage prior to scheduling
procedures.· Ensure all required documentation is obtained and completed before procedures ar
e scheduled.· Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, providers, and clinical teams regarding surgical
scheduling.· Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls while providing exceptional custo
mer service.· Accurately enter and update patient information within Cerner and other schedul
ing systems.· Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and support departments to ensure efficient coordinat
ion of care.· Support scheduling needs across approximately 14 specialties and adapt to evolving departmen
t workflows.· Complete training related to specialty-specific scheduling requirements and departmenta
l processes.· Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA r
equirements.· Perform additional scheduling and administrative duties
as assigned.
