Job Summary
The Skilled Nursing Center Site Administrator (SA) is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operations of a Skilled Nursing Center. The Administrator will ensure residents receive high-quality clinical care in a comfortable, homelike environment while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and all applicable federal and state regulations governing long-term care facilities.
This position requires a strong leader with expertise in skilled nursing, post-acute care, long-term care operations, regulatory compliance, financial performance, staff leadership, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and operational oversight of the Skilled Nursing Center.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, resident-centered clinical care.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state long-term care regulations, organizational policies, and procedures.
- Develop and maintain a safe, compassionate, and homelike environment for residents.
- Provide leadership and support to clinical, administrative, and operational staff.
- Establish strong relationships with residents, families, employees, leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in post-acute and long-term care services.
- Identify opportunities to improve clinical quality, operational efficiency, accessibility, and affordability of care.
- Oversee short-term and long-term organizational planning and development.
- Support effective management of healthcare operations, payer requirements, and case management processes.
- Monitor cost management, productivity, and overall business performance.
- Oversee and support employee and labor relations.
- Maintain awareness of current trends and developments within skilled nursing and long-term care.
- Establish clear organizational priorities and ensure appropriate follow-through.
- Promote collaboration, accountability, trust, and mutual respect throughout the facility.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree required in:
- Healthcare Administration
- Business Administration
- Related field
- Degree must be from an accredited educational institution.
- Master's degree preferred.
License Requirements
Must possess an applicable:
- Vermont Nursing Home Administrator License, and/or
- New York Nursing Home Administrator License
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of management experience with progressively increasing responsibilities, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating comparable knowledge and skills.
- Management experience must include at least one of the following settings:
- Skilled Nursing Center
- Residential Care
- Assisted Living
- Demonstrated leadership experience within post-acute and/or long-term care services.
- Proven ability to achieve clinical, operational, business, and organizational objectives.
