Contract length approx.: 5-month assignment, Possible Extension.
Local Pay: $45 - $49/hr
Requirement:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics.
- Certified Dietitian Nutritionist
- NYS License - Dietitian-Nutritionist
Duties:
- Provide comprehensive nutrition care by assessing nutritional needs and developing, implementing, and re-evaluating nutrition care plans.
- Perform nutrition screenings and complete nutrition assessments based on patient risk level.
- Calculate calorie, fluid, and protein requirements using standardized formulas.
- Modify diet orders and recommend diet changes, enteral formulas, and nutrition supplements.
- Monitor patients' nutrition status and complete timely nutrition reassessments.
- Educate patients and family members on nutrition care.
- Communicate nutrition-related issues with the healthcare team.
- Arrange enteral feeding and coordinate nutrition support services prior to discharge.
- Refer patients to GI Nutrition Services, Social Services, Speech Therapy, and Integrative Medicine as needed.
- Provide coverage across inpatient units, including ICU and PICU, and assigned outpatient areas.
