Mental Health Counselor
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Full-Time
- Schedule: Friday – Tuesday 4pm-12am
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 12am-8am; Saturday, Sunday 8am-4pm
Scope of Role
We are seeking a licensed Overnight Clinician to provide direct clinical services within a 24-hour Supportive Crisis Stabilization Center. This role supports individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises by delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed care in a fast-paced, recovery-oriented environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide clinical treatment in compliance with 14 NYCRR Part 600 and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Deliver individual and group therapy services to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services as needed.
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary staff.
- Collaborate with external providers, hospitals, and community-based referral sources.
- Make appropriate Level of Care (LOC) recommendations and community referrals.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and practice management systems.
- Ensure integrity, reliability, and accuracy of all clinical data.
- Utilize evidence-based practices including trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented approaches, integrated care, culturally responsive services, and wellness-focused models.
- Support limited outreach and referral coordination in collaboration with management staff.
Required Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field (required)
- Active NYS license: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LCAT (required)
- High level of computer literacy and EHR documentation skills
- Experience in crisis, respite, residential, or stabilization settings
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and in a 24-hour program environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CASAC or CASAC-T preferred
- Experience working with dually diagnosed individuals
- Familiarity with recovery-oriented and evidence-based clinical practices
- Experience serving diverse populations (adults, youth, and children)
- Bilingual Spanish preferred

Salary : $36 - $38
