Emergency Room Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a travel assignment in a fast-paced emergency department. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care and emergency nursing skills, the ability to rapidly assess and stabilize patients, and experience managing a wide range of medical emergencies and trauma cases. This role requires exceptional clinical judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and emergency interventions for patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and trauma.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient condition and clinical priorities.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and promptly recognize changes in condition.
• Operate and monitor emergency and critical care equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist with emergency procedures, resuscitations, trauma activations, and critical care interventions.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (license must be in hand at the time of submission).
• Previous 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred.
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI, PALS, NRP, TNCC
• Strong knowledge of emergency nursing principles, trauma care, critical care, and rapid patient stabilization.
• Excellent assessment, triage, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and healthcare technology.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced emergency settings.
• Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care.

Important Details:

• 13-week contract position (extensions available)
• Shift is 12-hour day ((9:00 AM – 9:00 PM)), 48 hrs/week (36 hours may be considered)
• Location is Big Spring, TX 79720
• Locals are not accepted within 110 miles from the job location
• Pay Range for Travelers: $2,650 - $2,700 per week
