Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (varied), 20 shifts/month, no weekends or holidays

Salary: $117,419 – $154,233 per year

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Safety RN to join an Emergency Room team. In collaboration with medical and leadership staff, you will promote a culture of patient safety, ensure adherence to national clinical standards, and provide evidence-based care. This role serves as a clinical advocate, mentor, and educator within the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a patient safety advocate and clinical role model in the ER.
- Coordinate, delegate, and supervise clinical care.
- Participate in clinical review activities and present patient/staff concerns to appropriate forums.
- Assist with disclosure and debriefing following adverse events.
- Identify and monitor metrics to improve patient care and report data to internal/external bodies.
- Maintain records of chart reviews, issues identified, and corrective action plans.
- Provide feedback on documentation to clinicians in a timely manner.
- Facilitate clinical drills for high-risk situations and ongoing staff education.
- Collaborate with Magnet Program director and serve as a Magnet writer.
- Provide direct patient care as directed by the Director of Nursing (excluding Cardiac Cath Lab).
Qualifications:
- Required: NYS RN license, BSN degree, at least 5 years of nursing experience in relevant specialty.
- Preferred: Master’s degree, national specialty certification (or within 1 year of hire).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and adult learning skills.
- Experience in patient safety, simulation, research, or team training preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
