Pay: $70.00/hr. to $74.00/hr.
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Director, Benefits to provide senior-level benefits leadership coverage within a large and complex healthcare environment. This individual will operate at a strategic director-level capacity while also supporting operational execution across the organization’s benefits portfolio. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in health & welfare programs, retirement benefits, vendor management, annual enrollment, and benefits compliance within large healthcare systems or multi-divisional organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage health & welfare benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, wellness, and compliance initiatives
- Oversee retirement and financial benefit programs including 401(k), pension, deferred compensation, and financial wellness programs
- Manage complex benefits RFP processes including vendor selection, evaluation, negotiations, and implementation support
- Support and optimize annual/open enrollment processes including communications, employee engagement, auditing, and reconciliation
- Present strategic recommendations to executive leadership regarding benefits structure, cost management, and vendor performance
- Represent the benefits function in cross-functional leadership and HR shared services meetings
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure operational excellence across all benefits programs
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of experience managing benefits operations in healthcare systems or large complex organizations
- Extensive experience with annual benefits enrollment administration
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership
- Proven experience leading strategic discussions related to benefits design, vendor performance, and cost management
- Experience with post-enrollment auditing and reconciliation activities
- Skilled in presenting to executive leadership teams and stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership managing benefits RFPs and vendor selection initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR Management, or related field required
- Healthcare industry experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred
- Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification preferred
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification preferred
