Remote CDI Specialist

Pride Health is hiring a CDI Specialist I to support our client's healthcare facility in Rochester, MN.
 
Job Details: 
Schedule: Sun-Thurs schedule. Mandatory OT is expected, along with working the holiday when the holiday falls during the Sun-Thurs. schedule (unless the contractor is taking paid time off). The onboarding schedule will be Mon-Fri for appr. 3-4 weeks (maybe a little longer, if needed), prior to switching to the Sun-Thurs. schedule

Contract Length: 18-week contract (Possible Extension)
Pay Range: $62.00 to $64.00/hour*
Mileage Reimbursement Rate (if applicable): N/A
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.  
 
Duties: 

• Perform concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records.
• Identify clinical documentation gaps and opportunities for clarification.
• Ensure documentation accurately reflects severity of illness, risk of mortality, and complexity of care.
• Collaborate with physicians, coders, nurses, case management, and other clinical staff.
• Support accurate coding, billing, medical necessity, and regulatory compliance.
• Educate physicians and healthcare staff on CDI practices and documentation requirements.
• Apply clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to medical records.

Requirements: 

• Education: 

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Acceptable credentials/backgrounds include RHIT, RHIA, RN, RRT, CCS, CCS-P, or domestic/international medical degree.

• License(s): N/A
• Certification(s):  Required certification: CDIP or CCDS.
• Years of experience: 

• 2 years of inpatient CDI Specialist experience.
• Recent CDI production/concurrent review experience within the last 12 months.

• Skills/Specialties/Technology:

• Strong knowledge of clinical documentation, coding, and medical terminology.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
