Sr. Systems Engineer (contract)

Our client in East Hartford is looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer to join their team to help move them into the future. This person will be responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of servers, storage, and computing infrastructure. This person will also be responsible for managing level two and three support for mission and business-critical applications.

This is a contract position that would be 3 days onsite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages virtual server technology using VMware, including ESX virtual server creation, and support of the virtual server environment
• Azure experience is a definite plus
• Experience in a hybrid cloud environment, specifically with SharePoint Online and Office 365.
• Manages Active Directory, GPOs, patching and vulnerability scans findings remediation
• Provides detailed design documents such as Visio diagrams, device descriptions, and narratives describing the operation of all networks components
• Monitors and maintains uptime of business and mission-critical applications in accordance with published SLAs
• Manages remote access using Citrix
• Responsible for researching, implementing, and monitoring storage solutions to include SAN, NAS, and RAID storage and server arrays that provides high-availability and fault tolerance
• Responsible for implementing and managing data, storage, backup, and replication technologies
• Cooperatively creates strategy for enterprise backup and recovery of data for all production environment
• Creates written procedures for implementing releases, patches, and new business applications.
• Assists with the formal management of software and hardware change control.
