Payroll Specialist

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations, time tracking, tax compliance, and employee support across a large workforce. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process US bi-weekly payroll in SAP accurately and on time
- Monitor and manage time & attendance module, resolving employee timesheet issues
- Maintain employee payroll data including new hires, terminations, and changes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, including prior pay cycles and adjustments
- Manage garnishments, legal inquiries, and audit requests
- Execute payroll post-processing activities including:
- GL postings
- Direct deposit files
- Third-party payments and garnishments
- Retirement and interface data processing
- Handle prior quarter wage and tax adjustments
- Manage payroll-related cases via ServiceNow
- Provide strong customer support while maintaining confidentiality of employee data
- Ensure adherence to company payroll policies and procedures
Scope & Stakeholders
- Support payroll operations for 1,000 employees
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including:
- Benefits
- Legal
- Employee Relations (ER)
- HR Business Partners (HRBP)
- Total Rewards
- IS/IT Teams
Required Qualifications
- Experience in payroll processing (US payroll preferred)
- Strong knowledge of payroll taxation, compliance, and regulations
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems (SAP HRP, SuccessFactors, ServiceNow)
- Strong attention to detail and reconciliation skills
