We are a newly opened preventative & wellness services clinic in South Sarasota. We mostly do spay, neuter, vaccines, annual testing, dental cleanings, and minor sick appointments.
Role Description
This is a part-time, leading to full-time, role for a Veterinary Technician or Assistant located in Sarasota, FL. The Veterinary Technician or Assistant will be responsible for surgical prep, monitoring anesthesia, post-op recovery, animal handling and restraint, cleaning, client education, and front desk tasks. We are a small clinic with a small staff and everyone is expected to help out in all areas as needed - front desk duties, technician/assistant duties, cleaning, etc.
Qualifications
- Veterinary Technology skills - drawing blood, giving injections, placing IV catheters, running in-house testing/lab equipment.
- Experience assisting with dental cleanings in dogs & cats is a plus - dental x-rays, scaling, polishing, etc.
- Client Education skills
- Surgical prep and anesthesia monitoring skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to multitask well is a must.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience working in a HQHV clinic is a plus.
- Fear free animal handling is a plus.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus.
