What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Manager position at PRETIUM?
Lead our technical team and oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of our technology projects. Duties and Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Mentor and train a team of technicians and machine operators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. (15-17 direct and dotted line reports)
- Technical Oversight: Manage the tool room, including current tools, molds, machines, and procurement of new tooling and molds and machine troubleshooting.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and customer support, to align technical initiatives with business objectives.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement technical strategies that support the company's goals, driving innovation and efficiency.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team and project success, implementing improvements as needed.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management or a related field is a plus and/or relevant on the job training.
- Experience: 5 years of technical and process experience in plastic blow molding and injection molding, plastic tooling, molding and mold repair and machine maintenance, with at least 2 years in a related management position.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in plastic blow molding and plastic injection molding (PET, HDPE): Aoki, Uniloy, Sumitomo.
- Training: Ability to mentor and train
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative solutions to include current machines and molds and an understanding of the capabilities to create new products.
- Process Improvement: experience with change management and continuous improvement.
