Technical Manager

Job Summary

Lead our technical team and oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of our technology projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastics and injection molding technology, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation and efficiency within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Technical Oversight: Provide guidance on technical issues, architecture, and best practices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and customer support, to align technical initiatives with business objectives.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement technical strategies that support the company's goals, driving innovation and efficiency.
• Budget Management: Assist in budgeting and resource allocation for technical projects, ensuring effective use of resources.
• Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team and project success, implementing improvements as needed.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience: 5 years of experience in a technical role, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership position.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in plastics and injection molding machines (ex. Engel, Toshiba, Van Dorn).
• Project Management: Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative solutions.

Work Environment

The work environment is typical of most office environments; occasionally, the position will be required to be on the manufacturing floor.  The noise level in the work environment is usually noisy which requires the use of safety PPE to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection and hair/beard nets.
