Position Overview
We’re looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our Torrance, California manufacturing location. This is a fully on-site position. The expected compensation for this position is an annual salary of $85,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Keeps up to date on Federal, State and Local compliance matters relating to personnel matters. Makes recommendations on improvements needed to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory changes.
- Leads the recruitment effort for hourly and salaried positions. This includes working with the hiring manger to identify needs, update job descriptions, post open positions, lead the interview process, debrief candidates with the interview team, and leading the process to offer positions to candidates.
- Responsible for executing new employee onboarding program including executing pre-employment screenings, new hire orientation, benefits orientation, and preparing and processing new hire paperwork and files.
- Maintains HR records including personnel files, organizational charts, processing employee status changes and generating reports. Responds to unemployment claims and responsible for preparing information and participating in audits.
- Assist with organizational training and development efforts and developing the capabilities of our Team Members.
- Act as a liaison between employees and insurance providers to resolve benefit related problems. Participates in the annual open enrollment process.
- Act as a resource for employees to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefit and HR policies and regulations. Keep Director of HR advised of potential problem areas and recommend solutions as appropriate.
- Assist plant leadership with ensuring positive employee relations. This includes planning and executing company events, managing awards programs, facilitating communications and meetings with Team Members and other employee recognition programs. Assists with annual engagement survey and related projects.
- Assist with HR and organizational improvement projects.
- Works with Safety Manager to support the safety culture and management of workers compensation claims.
- Identifies, makes recommendations, and carries out process improvement initiatives within areas of responsibly.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree in HR or related field and 3-5 years of experience in the HR field, or a combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience with recruiting, benefits administration and HR systems strongly preferred.
- HR Certification a plus.
- Ability to build relationships at all levels to achieve results; position requires a high level of collaboration and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Requires effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem solver with an ability to deliver results.
- Ability to execute work at a high level of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
