What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Driver position at Presto Distribution Center Inc?
SUMMARY: Responsible for moving trailers in and out of docks around a busy factory yard. Guiding large containers in tight spaces while ensuring yard order and assisting with loading/unloading trucks with a forklift. Will be required to work within the warehouse as yard duties allow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment prior to commencing work.
- Place product in storage and or specific designated areas.
- Record and produce accurate and thorough records.
- Comply with company safety standards, Department of Transportation regulations,
- Keep interior of truck organized and clean.
- 5X8 work schedule
- Overtime will be required at times.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma/GED and 2-5 years driving experience in a distribution environment.
SPECIFIC SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and a minimum of two years of driving experience.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements and the Federal Motor Carrier (FMC) guidelines.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Language skills must allow employee to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Able to regularly and consistently lift and carry pound cases of product.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures for extended periods of time.
