We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager – Trucking Specialist to lead and build our Fleet Department from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with commercial trucking fleets, strong relationships with insurance carriers, and deep knowledge of DOT compliance, safety programs, risk management, and trucking operations. This leader will be responsible for managing and expanding a book of fleet business, recruiting and training a team of producers, and implementing sales strategies to grow our presence in the fleet insurance market.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and oversee the Fleet Department, including setting structure, goals, and performance standards.
· Build, train, and mentor a team of Fleet Producers and Account Managers.
· Maintain and grow relationships with insurance carriers, ensuring strong market access and pricing advantages.
· Oversee fleet submissions, quoting, and binding ensuring quality, compliance, and profitability.
· Conduct detailed risk assessments and implement safety and loss-control programs for clients.
· Partner with underwriting to ensure clean submissions, accurate driver lists, and proper vehicle scheduling.
· Manage renewal strategies and ensure exceptional service delivery to large trucking accounts.
· Collaborate with marketing and business development to attract new fleets nationwide.
· Report production results, retention rates, and department growth metrics to executive leadership.
Qualifications
· 5 years of experience in commercial trucking insurance (preferably in fleets or large accounts).
· In-depth understanding of Auto Liability, Physical Damage, Cargo, and General Liability coverages.
· Proven experience with carrier relations, safety programs, DOT compliance, and FMCSA guidelines.
· Strong leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills.
· Active Florida 2-20 General Lines License required.
· Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to build, lead, and scale a department.
