Summary
We are transitioning from using an external vendor to bring radiology and interventional radiology coding in-house. This significant shift involves taking over responsibilities that have been managed externally for many years. We seek a seasoned medical coder with comprehensive knowledge of radiology services and, ideally, experience in interventional radiology coding. The ideal candidate will possess radiology expertise, with certification considered a valuable advantage. The role involves a day shift working 8.5-hour days from 08:00 to 16:30, fully remote.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in radiology coding, including IR procedures (if possible)
- In-depth knowledge of radiology services coding
- Strong understanding of medical coding guidelines and compliance
- Certification in medical coding (preferred but not mandatory)
- Ability to work independently and manage detailed coding tasks
- Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities - Transition coding responsibilities from external vendor to in-house team
- Accurately code radiology and interventional radiology procedures
- Review clinical documentation and assign appropriate codes
- Ensure compliance with coding standards and regulations
- Collaborate with radiology department to clarify documentation as needed
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of radiology coding guidelines
