Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience considered
- Minimum of 7 years in infrastructure, systems engineering, or data center operations
- At least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, VMware, Cisco networking, and Palo Alto firewalls
- Experience with data center design, structured cabling, and hardware lifecycle management
- Proven ability to manage procurement, vendor relationships, and negotiate contracts
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with major carriers such as Lumen or AT&T
- Familiarity with hybrid/cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
- Knowledge of backup systems and disaster recovery planning
- Project management or ITIL certification a plus
- Oversee infrastructure lifecycle from planning through decommissioning
- Manage procurement processes and vendor relationships for hardware, software, and network components
- Lead the design and layout of data centers, ensuring optimal placement of servers, core networks, and backup systems
- Supervise and mentor a junior infrastructure technician responsible for physical infrastructure tasks, including racking, stacking, and cabling
- Ensure data center equipment is organized, maintained, and compliant with safety standards
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support organizational goals
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure standards, configurations, and procedures
- Implement monitoring, redundancy, disaster recovery, and business continuity best practices
