Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience considered
• Minimum of 7 years in infrastructure, systems engineering, or data center operations
• At least 2 years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, VMware, Cisco networking, and Palo Alto firewalls
• Experience with data center design, structured cabling, and hardware lifecycle management
• Proven ability to manage procurement, vendor relationships, and negotiate contracts
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with major carriers such as Lumen or AT&T
• Familiarity with hybrid/cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
• Knowledge of backup systems and disaster recovery planning
• Project management or ITIL certification a plus
  
  

Responsibilities

• Oversee infrastructure lifecycle from planning through decommissioning
• Manage procurement processes and vendor relationships for hardware, software, and network components
• Lead the design and layout of data centers, ensuring optimal placement of servers, core networks, and backup systems
• Supervise and mentor a junior infrastructure technician responsible for physical infrastructure tasks, including racking, stacking, and cabling
• Ensure data center equipment is organized, maintained, and compliant with safety standards
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support organizational goals
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure standards, configurations, and procedures
• Implement monitoring, redundancy, disaster recovery, and business continuity best practices
