Head of Finance

Location: Itasca, IL

A growing, private equity-backed industrial manufacturing organization is seeking a Head of Finance to lead financial planning and analysis, support strategic growth, and help build out the finance function across a multi-company platform.

This is an opportunity for a motivated finance professional to work directly with the CFO, influence business strategy, and play a key role in integrating multiple businesses while driving financial and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-term strategic planning.
• Partner with executive leadership to improve profitability, EBITDA, working capital, and cash flow.
• Analyze financial and operational performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and operations leaders to improve margins, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Develop financial reporting, KPIs, and analytical tools to support decision-making.
• Support the integration of multiple businesses and establish scalable FP&A processes.
• Build and develop the FP&A function in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong background in FP&A, corporate finance, financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Industrial or manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in a large, complex organization or Fortune 500 environment is highly desirable.
• Ability to translate financial data into actionable business recommendations.
• Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to build processes and take ownership.
• Private equity experience is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with ERP integration is beneficial but not required.
  
  

Candidates from organizations such as Honeywell, GE, or similar industrial companies may be particularly well suited. Both experienced finance leaders and high-potential Manager/Senior Manager candidates ready to take the next step will be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: Based on experience.
• Target annual bonus of 20–30%.

Location Requirements: Candidates should be based in the Northern Chicago suburbs or surrounding areas and be comfortable commuting to Itasca, IL, and traveling regularly to Union Grove, WI.
