Security Guard

Job Summary:

Prestige Protection Services holds contracts with multiple establishments located in Albany, Troy and Schenectady. Security guards will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patrons and staff at all times. This includes monitoring entry points, enforcing venue policies, managing crowd control, and addressing disturbances or emergencies in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and screen patrons at the entrance to ensure compliance with age and dress code requirements.
• Check IDs to verify legal drinking age.
• Monitor behavior inside the venue and intervene when necessary to prevent altercations, theft, or other unsafe situations.
• De-escalate conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Remove individuals who are overly intoxicated, disruptive, or violating venue rules.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency services when required.
• Perform regular walkthroughs of the bar, restrooms, and surrounding areas.
• Ensure fire exits and walkways remain clear.
• Respond to emergencies, including administering basic first aid when needed.
• Report any suspicious activity or security concerns to management.
• Document incidents in a detailed and timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Prior experience in security is preferred.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and make quick decisions.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods; capable of physical intervention if needed.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Valid New York State security license.
• CPR/First Aid certification is encouraged.

Working Conditions:

• Weekend nights.
• Loud and crowded environment. Flashing light may be in use
• Exposure to potentially intoxicated or unruly patrons.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour
