Custodian - T1460JOB PURPOSEThe Custodian performs assigned custodial tasks as it relates to that particular job location. This includes general cleaning (restroom, offices, cafeteria, sales floor, others as assigned), buffing, scrubbing, and ability to perform basic tasks of vacuum, sweeping, mopping and use of equipment such as scrubbers, extractors, and buffers. EXPECTATIONS FOR SATISFACTORY JOB PERFORMANCEPerforms all general required tasks as directed by Lead Custodian or SupervisorUses floor machines for buffing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming and carpet cleaning safely, according to proper usage, and as agreed to schedule with store/customerPerforms all tasks within proper safety guidelines, company guidelines, and as directed by managementFollows all company policies and procedures regarding safety, customer service, proper attire, and working conditions such as hours and timekeepingPerforms assignments according to company schedule and as expected by customerWears uniform at required worksitesPerforms janitorial/custodial tasks based on defined scope of work and customer requests. These are performed to published schedules and within explained guidelines. These tasks often include the following: Empty wastebaskets and replace liner as neededDust/clean tops of office furniture, desks and tablesVacuum all carpetingSpot clean soiled areas when neededClean and sanitize toilets, basins, and urinalsClean counters, mirrors and fixturesSweep and damp mop floor with disinfectantSpot clean walls, partitions, and doorsRefill all restroom dispensers as neededWipe/clean all table tops and chairsWipe/clean vending machines and appliancesClean sink and damp mop tile floorsThis position may work nights, early morning, weekends, and holidaysFollows oral and written instructionsWorks effectively individually and with a teamAttends periodic training and safety meetingsEDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS Prefer a high school diploma or equivalent plus 1–2 years of experience in custodial, janitorial, or cleaning services.ADDITIONAL SKILLS: REQUIRED & PREFERREDRequired Skills:Basic knowledge of custodial duties and janitorial responsibilitiesKnowledge of cleaning equipment including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and applying finishes on different flooring materialsKnowledge of cleaning techniques and processes.
