Job Description
Prestige Academic Prep is seeking dependable and knowledgeable part-time tutors to provide individualized academic instruction to elementary and middle school students at our Martinsburg, WV location.
Established in 2020, Prestige Academic Prep provides personalized tutoring and educational support to students and families across Maryland and West Virginia.
We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with students, communicate effectively, and can provide consistent academic support in their areas of expertise.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one instruction in elementary or middle school subjects, particularly reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Help students strengthen foundational academic skills and understand challenging concepts.
- Prepare instructional activities based on student needs.
- Support students with homework, study skills, and academic organization.
- Monitor student progress and maintain brief session notes.
- Communicate professionally with students, families, and staff.
- Maintain a dependable tutoring schedule.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the subjects and grade levels being taught.
- Previous teaching, tutoring, or relevant academic experience preferred.
- College coursework, a degree, teaching credentials, or equivalent subject expertise.
- Ability to explain academic concepts clearly and adapt instruction to different learners.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to our Martinsburg office.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check.
Teaching certification is not required for general tutoring assignments. Current and former teachers, substitute teachers, education majors, and experienced academic tutors are encouraged to apply.
Schedule and Compensation
This is a part-time, in-person position. Tutoring assignments are scheduled based on student needs and tutor availability.
Compensation depends on the assigned grade level, session duration, and tutor qualifications. Specific rates are discussed during the hiring process.
