The Role
The Senior Director of Commercialization & PMO drives Pressed’s growth by making sure the right projects get done, the right way. This leader builds and leads a strong PM team that keeps work moving with clarity, discipline, and urgency.
The Senior Director of Commercialization (PMO) ensures the biggest-impact initiatives are prioritized and resourced correctly, while partnering across Finance, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Quality, and Technology to remove roadblocks. Projects are kept on track—on time, on budget, and commercially ready—with clean handoffs and no surprises. Success means demand, supply, and financial plans are in sync, ownership is clear, risks are flagged early, and decisions don’t stall. At the same time, this leader develops a PMO team known for follow-through, professional growth, and being the go-to strategic problem solvers.
Key Responsibilities Include
Commercialization Leadership
- Lead cross-functional commercialization from approved idea through launch and post-launch review.
- Coordinate specifications, packaging/artwork, regulatory and labeling, quality, plant trials, and co-manufacturer readiness.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Finance on sell-in readiness, and with Operations on scale-up; capture post-launch learnings and improvements.
- Oversee special wholesale projects in partnership with Operations and the Technical Services Manager.
Project Management Leadership (PMO Vision & Governance)
- Define and communicate the PMO vision and multi-year roadmap (people, process, tools) aligned with company strategy.
- Establish a clear, easy-to-follow checkpoint model: Define → Plan → Build & Test → Ready to Sell → Review & Improve.
- Set decision rights (RAPID/RACI), maintain decision calendars, and uphold consistent gate discipline.
- Build and maintain dashboards that show portfolio and strategic-initiative health (status, risks, resourcing, timing).
- Identify recurring cross-team bottlenecks and implement right-sized solutions that improve speed and clarity without unnecessary complexity.
Demand Planning & S&OP Integration
- Serve as the primary liaison to Finance (including the CFO) and Operations for demand planning and the monthly S&OP cycle.
- Lead scenario planning (volume, capacity, materials, margin) so leaders can make informed trade-offs and mitigate risks early.
Strategic Impact & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain the enterprise milestone calendar for top initiatives—owners, dates, dependencies—so teams stay coordinated.
- Provide concise executive updates; surface cross-team risks early and coordinate resolution (a leadership function, not an administrative one).
- Partner with the ELT to translate business strategy into a clear, prioritized roadmap.
- Champion a culture of disciplined execution, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Wholesale Delivery
- Oversee the program of work that advances wholesale growth in partnership with Sales and Operations.
- Ensure readiness across supply, quality, and commercial needs to support Pressed’s path toward scaling as a national brand.
Leadership & Escalation
- Lead, coach, and develop Project Managers and the Technical Services Manager.
- Provide initial leadership for wholesale program management while building the long-term structure for dedicated support.
- When trade-offs arise (service, cost, speed, quality), frame options, implications, and recommendations; escalate only decisions requiring executive choice.
- Model servant leadership—clear roadblocks, enable teams, and celebrate contributions, while mentoring broader PM team / PMO.
Qualifications
- 10 years in CPG (Food & Beverage preferred) leading commercialization, project/program management, or supply-chain planning.
- Built or led a PMO; comfortable teaching project practices and decision rights to cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on S&OP/demand planning experience; direct partnership with Finance/CFO on plans and scenarios.
- Strong vendor/co-manufacturer coordination; familiarity with packaging, labeling, and quality requirements.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to foster collaboration between all levels of the organization (including managing managers and cross-functional programs).
- Proficiency with modern project tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Jira), PLM/spec systems, ERP, and planning tools.
- Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to make complex work simple and teachable.
- Ability to connect product choices to brand, customer, operations, and P&L.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure—resolving conflicts, gaining alignment, and driving follow-through.
- Bachelor’s degree required; PMP/Agile certification a plus.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule (Culver City) and travel to Fresno/Dinuba and supplier sites as needed.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
