About the Role
The Safety Manager is responsible for driving safety excellence and supporting a positive, compliant, and people-first workplace across our Dinuba and Fresno production facilities. The Safety Manager leads all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs and compliance initiatives, while also providing on-site HR administrative and employee support in partnership with the Senior HR Manager. This role helps to ensure the safety, engagement, and wellbeing of all team members in our manufacturing environment, and requires a proactive, hands-on leader who can balance regulatory rigor with care for people.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance Leadership
- Develop, implement, and oversee EHS programs, policies, and training across Fresno and Dinuba facilities in compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company standards.
- Conduct safety audits, facility inspections, and risk assessments; identify hazards and drive corrective action.
- Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis; ensure timely and accurate reporting and follow-up.
- Maintain all required safety documentation including OSHA logs, records, and legally required postings; ensure readiness for internal or external audits.
- Facilitate training programs covering PPE, lockout/tagout, forklift operation, chemical handling, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain and organize emergency response plans and drills.
- Partner closely with Plant, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure compliance with safety protocols and equipment standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory inspections, audits, and inquiries.
- Develop and lead a “near miss” program, including tracking and action plans for follow-up.
- Create and lead safety committee.
- Foster a safety-first culture through communication, coaching, and engagement programs.
HR Administration & Site Support
- Partner with and support the Senior HR Manager to ensure consistent HR coverage and administrative excellence across both sites.
- Assist with onboarding and new hire orientation, ensuring safety and HR training completion and documentation.
- Maintain employee records, attendance tracking, and safety compliance documentation in coordination with the HR team.
- Support injury reporting, workers’ compensation case management, and return-to-work processes.
- Provide on-site HR administrative support, answering employee questions and escalating complex matters to the Senior Manager, HR.
- Assist with Employee Relations documentation, general HR communication, and site employee engagement initiatives.
- Contribute to HR process improvements, compliance audits, and reporting as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in safety management and/or HR operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA standards, EHS documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Experience conducting HR investigations, trainings, and audits.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Familiarity with HR systems (Dayforce is a plus).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, HR Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Must be able to work on-site (Monday-Friday) in Fresno and Dinuba, CA.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Salary : $105,000 - $115,000
