Traveling Maintenance Supervisor - Multifamily

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Traveling Maintenance Supervisor to lead and oversee maintenance operations across multiple facilities. Properties range in age from 1966-2000.

This energetic role requires a proactive leader who can manage diverse maintenance teams, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and deliver exceptional facilities management services. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and systems troubleshooting expertise, along with excellent project management and team leadership skills. As a Traveling Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering a safety-first environment across all locations.

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities across multiple sites, ensuring all work aligns with safety regulations and maintenance procedures.
• Lead facilities maintenance teams by providing clear direction, training, and support to optimize performance and productivity.
• Oversee the repair and maintenance of mechanical systems including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, electrical systems (high voltage and low voltage), and mechanical systems repair.
• Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to schedule work orders, track maintenance history, and manage inventory effectively.
• Troubleshoot engineering issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to resolve electrical or mechanical faults efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards by implementing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and maintaining accurate safety records.
• Manage project timelines for facility upgrades or repairs while coordinating with vendors or contractors as needed.
• Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, safety inspections, and system repairs to support ongoing facility operations.

Requirements

• Proven management experience supervising facilities or maintenance teams in industrial or commercial environments.
• Extensive mechanical knowledge including HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance, electrical systems troubleshooting (high voltage & low voltage), and industrial maintenance procedures.
• Strong understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and communication purposes.
• Experience managing facilities maintenance management software such as CMMS platforms.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations along with the ability to enforce safety standards across multiple sites.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills in English; ability to clearly convey technical information to team members at various skill levels.
• Ability to travel frequently between different locations; valid driver’s license required.
• Technical certifications in electrical systems, HVAC repair, or industrial maintenance are preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
