The Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) is accepting applications for the PAC Assistant Director internship. This is a 20-month internship during the 2026-27 and 2027-28 academic years funded through the NCAA Division III Pathway to Excellence Grant program. The conference assistant director will be actively involved in all aspects of operations and administration in a 25-sport NCAA Division III conference, including championships, compliance and governance, sports information, awards, scheduling, grant administration, social media programming and website management. In addition, the conference assistant will join in the supervision of the PAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), assisting the Assistant Commissioner in organizing and leading all PAC SAAC meetings and other conference-wide programming. Finally, the position will be instrumental in serving as volunteer coordinator and other related duties as the PAC hosts five NCAA Division III national championships in Pittsburgh in 2026-28. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the commissioner and/or associate/assistant commissioners.
The position will be based at either a conference school or a home office in the Greater Pittsburgh region. The selected candidate will report directly to the PAC Commissioner, with alternate reporting lines to both the Associate and Assistant Commissioner positions. The anticipated position start date is August 1, 2026. Annual salary will be $30,000 plus a $5,000 housing stipend and $3,000 for professional development ($38,000 total) with no benefits.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field (public relations/English/communications/ sport management/business, etc.) with strong interpersonal and written communication skills. The candidate must be available to work nights and weekends. Candidates with experience in sports information, event management, website management and/or as a Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) representative are preferred. Familiarity with statistical software programs, social media platforms and/or desktop publishing software is a plus.
