Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences, ensuring proper food safety and hygiene standards
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning routines to promote a healthy environment
- Support medication administration in compliance with HIPAA regulations and care plans under supervision or as trained
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive atmosphere
- Follow detailed care plans developed by healthcare professionals, including dementia, Alzheimer's, or autism-specific routines
- Document care activities accurately while respecting privacy regulations such as HIPAA
- Assist with transportation or outings within the community as needed for social engagement or medical appointments
Requirements
- Previous experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs and patient monitoring skills
- Excellent communication skills coupled with patience and empathy for diverse needs
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a caregiving team
