ELL Teacher/Coordinator

About the Role

Prescott Valley Charter School is seeking a highly effective K–12 English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher who will also serve as the ELL Program Coordinator for the entire school.

This is a leadership and teaching role.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Arizona ELL requirements, including AZELLA administration, and a proven track record of moving students to English proficiency. This role requires someone who can both deliver high-quality instruction and lead a compliant, results-driven ELL program.

You will serve approximately 80 students across K–12 with the support of 2 paraprofessionals, ensuring that all ELL students receive the instruction, support, and monitoring needed to succeed.

What You’ll Do

Instruction & Student Support

• Provide direct ELL instruction and language development support to K–12 students
• Deliver targeted instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening
• Support students in accessing grade-level content across all subject areas
• Differentiate instruction based on language proficiency levels
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support ELL students in the classroom
• Monitor student progress and ensure measurable language growth

Program Coordination & Compliance

• Serve as the school’s ELL Program Coordinator
• Administer and oversee AZELLA testing (placement and reassessment) with fidelity
• Ensure compliance with all Arizona Department of Education ELL requirements
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, documentation, and reporting
• Monitor reclassification criteria and ensure students are exited appropriately
• Track and report on student progress toward English proficiency

Data & Outcomes

• Analyze AZELLA and other student data to drive instruction and intervention
• Maintain a strong focus on student reclassification to English proficient status
• Use data to identify gaps and implement targeted supports

Leadership & Collaboration

• Supervise and effectively manage 2paraprofessionals supporting the ELL program
• Provide guidance, direction, and task management for paraprofessional staff
• Partner with teachers, administration, and families to support student success
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and services

• You are highly organized and able to manage both instruction and program oversight

• You are highly data-driven and use student data to guide decisions and instruction
• You are proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Valid Arizona teaching certification required
• SEI Endorsement required (or ability to obtain immediately if not already held)
• Demonstrated experience administering AZELLA (required)
• Proven track record of successfully reclassifying students to English proficient
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
