Healthcare Security Officer – Multiple Positions Available
Premier Security, a locally owned security company, is seeking Healthcare Security Officers for full-time, part-time, and flex positions. Day, swing, and graveyard shifts may be available depending on staffing needs.
Healthcare security is a unique environment that combines security responsibilities with customer service. Officers play an important role in maintaining a safe, calm, and welcoming atmosphere for hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
Position Details
- Starting wage: $19.51 per hour, with incremental pay increases throughout the year.
- Full-time, part-time, and flexible scheduling opportunities.
- Health benefits available to full-time employees after 60 days.
- Oregon DPSST Unarmed Security Certification is not required to apply. Training and licensing assistance are provided upon hire.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
- Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance.
- De-escalate conflicts and assist with disruptive or aggressive individuals.
- Conduct interior and exterior foot patrols of hospital buildings and grounds.
- Monitor entrances, control access, and check in visitors.
- Conduct visitor screenings in accordance with facility policies.
- Assist with parking enforcement and traffic control.
- Monitor designated hospital systems and report safety or security concerns.
- Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Communicate and coordinate with hospital staff, security personnel, and emergency responders.
- Follow established security procedures, hospital policies, and post orders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to obtain an Oregon DPSST Unarmed Professional Security License.
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana.
- Must have reliable transportation and communication.
- Must maintain consistent attendance and work assigned shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous security or healthcare experience.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Good judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous security experience is preferred but not required. We are looking for dependable, motivated individuals who can maintain professionalism, communicate effectively, and contribute to a safe healthcare environment.
Additional Requirements
Premier Security maintains a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.
Premier Security does not independently require COVID-19 vaccination. However, certain healthcare facilities may have vaccination, testing, or exemption requirements based on applicable laws and facility policies.
