Job Summary
We are seeking a Safety Manager to lead jobsite safety efforts on large-scale water infrastructure construction projects. This role is responsible for managing all safety-related activities across self-perform and subcontracted work, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a strong safety culture. The position requires a hands-on leader who can navigate complex construction environments and effectively collaborate with project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all jobsite safety efforts across construction activities, including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, safety standards, and project-specific safety plans
- Coordinate closely with project management, subcontractors, trades, and safety personnel
- Conduct safety inspections, orientations, trainings, and incident investigations
- Develop and reinforce a strong safety culture across the project site
- Mentor and support safety engineers and project personnel
- Maintain clear communication with internal teams and external stakeholders, including owner and engineer representatives
- Support additional project safety initiatives and responsibilities as needed
- Experience managing safety programs on large-scale heavy/industrial construction projects
- OSHA 30 certification required (OSHA 500 preferred)
- CHST certification required (CSP preferred)
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
- Proven ability to lead teams and work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to relocate to Northern Virginia for a full-time, onsite assignment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
