This position reports to the Manufacturing Site Manager. This position directs manufacturing operations through a team of functional front line supervisor. Good communication skills, problem solving, leadership, teamwork orientation, project management, performance management, self-motivation and technical capacity are all essential to the success of this position. Regular day-to-day activities require regular interaction with all company departments, vendors, and customers.
Essential Functions
- Manages policy deployment in the areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.
- Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development. Plan and conduct regular employee training and development meetings.
- Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
- Plan; think ahead, plan and organize. Balances work cell capacity/loading across the plant. Provides leadership through a three to six-month planning cycle.
- Coach, mentor and train new employees in order to achieve high performance. Identify employee strengths and weaknesses. Measures performance and makes employment decisions.
- Complete performance evaluations in a thoughtful and timely manner. Initiate new employee checklists.
- Responsible for overseeing that all work is being done correctly and in a safe manner.
- Carefully monitor the safety of all employees. Complete accident investigations and reports as necessary.
- Review and analyze low performance items. Develop methods for increasing productivity. Reduce waste. Strive for on time deliveries. Oversee development of new procedures and work instructions
- Develop processes for effective and efficient operation of Converting, Assembly and Warehouse.
- Manage and organize multiple priorities and be sufficiently flexible to make changes as situations dictate.
- Determines operations head count needs and ensures compliance with company policies.
- Helps define company needs for capital investments and improvement.
- Visit customers and vendors as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Required; college degree a plus, but not required.
- The ability to oversee all facets of day-to-day production operation.
- A minimum of 5-7 years in a supervisory role at a warehouse/manufacturing/distribution facility. Corrugated experience and knowledge required; lean manufacturing practices
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications and Internet usages (computer software such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint and other database programs)
- The ability to sort, analyze and interpret data as needed.
- Experience in identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; taking action that is consistent with available fact, constraints, and probable consequences.
Salary : $85,812 - $114,517
