Premier Media Group publishes a portfolio of award-winning magazines, including 425, 425 Business, Northwest Travel Life, Southwest Travel Life, South Sound, West Sound, and South Sound Business. Each publication stands out for its unique content and design, available through subscriptions, retail locations across Western Washington, and distribution at select hotels and resorts in the region.
This year, we’re excited to expand with the addition of West Sound, and we’re looking for a talented editor to join our creative team. As a key contributor, you’ll create the editorial direction, freelance assignments-contracts-fulfillment, copy edit, design recommendations, layout, and production of our magazines, house marketing campaigns, update websites, update newsletters, and support company editorial efforts that elevate all our brands.
What You will Do:
As an editor, you will lead our publications and marketing materials, collaborating closely with the creative and editorial leadership. Your responsibilities will include:
- Editorial oversight.
- Create visually engaging editorial.
- Work well remotely and with a team.
- Utilizing current brand design guidelines all the while incorporating your creative excellence and footprint.
- Support communication with print vendors to ensure timely production and high-quality result as needed with design team.
- Stay up to date on media trends and contribute creative ideas to elevate our publications and media.
- Be involved in our community, serve our community, and identify how you/we can elevate our voice within our community.
- Self-manage with excellence and strong work ethic.
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate
- Education & Experience:
- College degree in journalism or a related field or 5 years of professional experience in the field of journalism.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of journalism and AP principles.
- Familiarity with digital journalism for websites, newsletters, and social media.
- Basic understanding of print production and file preparation.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach with a willingness to learn.
- A great writing voice, tone, and appreciation for reading.
