Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Cabinet Assembler & Installer to join our growing team. This role is responsible for assembling custom cabinets and closets in our shop and professionally installing them in residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, works efficiently, and delivers a high-quality finished product while providing an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Shop Assembly
- Assemble custom cabinets, closets, vanities, and storage systems according to production drawings.
- Install hardware including hinges, drawer slides, handles, pull-outs, and specialty accessories.
- Verify all components are complete and free of defects before installation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with loading and preparing projects for delivery.
Field Installation
- Install custom cabinetry, closets, wall units, pantries, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and other millwork.
- Read and interpret shop drawings and installation plans.
- Ensure cabinets are level, plumb, square, and securely fastened.
- Make field modifications when necessary to achieve a professional fit and finish.
- Install trim, fillers, crown molding, toe kicks, light valances, and accessories.
- Complete punch list items and final adjustments before project completion.
Quality & Customer Service
- Maintain high standards of workmanship on every project.
- Treat customers' homes with professionalism and respect.
- Protect floors, walls, and surrounding finishes during installation.
- Communicate installation issues promptly with the Operations Manager.
- Ensure each project meets company quality standards before leaving the job site.
Qualifications
- 2 years of cabinet or closet installation experience preferred
- Experience assembling frameless or face-frame cabinetry
- Ability to read shop drawings and installation plans
- Proficient with power tools and woodworking equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift 75 pounds regularly
- Comfortable working on ladders
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- Experience installing custom closets
- Knowledge of cabinet hardware and specialty storage accessories
- Finish carpentry experience
- Basic touch-up and adjustment skills
- Experience using laser levels and layout tools
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing
- Ability to work in residential construction environments
- Comfortable working in Florida heat when required
