Premier Health is the region’s largest primary care based, multi-specialty medical group providing our communities with excellent patient care at multiple locations throughout Sussex, Warren and Morris Counties in NJ and in Pike County PA.
We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented full time administrative site manager for our newly acquired Ambulatory Surgery Center, located in Morris County (Succasunna).
Reporting directly to the Administrator, the ideal candidate will play a crucial role managing a team of non-clinical employees and oversee all daily administrative operations of the facility in collaboration with our comprehensive management support team of healthcare professionals.
Job Summary:
Oversees, administers, and coordinates all aspects of the operating functions, processes and staff of the Center while demonstrating the primary mission, objectives, and goals of efficiently and cost-effectively providing surgical services that improve operations and exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
· Accountable for the management of business operations of the facility including regulatory compliance, the delivery of quality services, improving patient satisfaction, equipment maintenance, and environment of care.
· Perform and participate as a team member in support of all front desk activities including but not limited to surgical scheduling, check-in, check-out and billing processes.
· Partners with ASC physicians, clinical coordinators, and executive management in developing and maintaining the facility’s goals, objectives, and standards of practice. Supports strategic direction of ambulatory operations, including new programs and growth initiatives.
· Maintains awareness and ensures the surgical programs and services provided are compliant with all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, as well as accrediting body, AAAHC.
· Develops, implements, monitors, and maintains the facility’s standardized work procedures and policies, which assure cost-effective, safe, and high-quality care across ASC operations.
· Provides direct training and supervision of non-clinical personnel. Coaches, develops, educates, and mentors, as well as fosters an environment of trust throughout all areas of the facility.
· Manages recruitment, retention, evaluates performance of non-clinical staff, and personnel records.
· Assists in maintaining systems to collect data, perform data reporting and analysis to meet organizational goals and objectives, as well as regulatory requirements, such as CMS Quality Measure Reporting.
· Assists with oversight of the facility’s Peer Review and Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Program by developing, evaluating, and promoting implementation of a continuous quality improvement program, identifying and correcting quality care issues.
· Monitors the functions of all surgical and patient care equipment through contracted services and follows up on preventive maintenance and repairs.
· Holds monthly staff meetings outlining goals and priorities of the facility.
· Active member of the Medical Executive Committee reporting pertinent activities concerning the facility.
· After hours availability for emergency issues such as facility or operational issues due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
· Participates in professional development activities to keep current with healthcare trends, practices and management skills and maintains professional affiliations.
· Demonstrates safe work habits in the workplace and maintains current knowledge of the organization’s Corporate Compliance Plan, as well as the facility’s Emergency Preparedness Plan protocols, OSHA, and HIPAA standards.
· Performs all related duties and/or special projects as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
· BS or healthcare-related degree
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in healthcare leadership, manager level or above, in an ambulatory surgery or hospital setting
· Strong knowledge of principles and practices of business/medical administration and management
· Skilled in exercising high degree of leadership, initiative and decision making to achieve both organizational and regulatory objectives.
· Demonstrated experience in quality improvement initiatives.
· Demonstrated experience in policy and procedure writing a MUST.
· Knowledge and ability to utilize EHR (Epic and ProVation) to monitor key statistics, patient metrics, and facility operations.
· Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and comfort in communication with all levels of personnel.
· Demonstrated excellence in customer service, patient experience, and operational improvement within the ASC setting.
· Comprehensive understanding of Ambulatory Surgery Center regulations and standards (State, Federal and AAAHC).
· Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in an ASC setting in the realm of OSHA, HIPAA, scheduling, and billing.
