JOB – Senior Civil Structural Engineer

LOCATION – Florida (Hybrid)

TERM – Permanent

SALARY – $125,000 – $155,000 Benefits

My client – a well-established, Florida-based engineering consultancy – are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to support a strong pipeline of projects across petrochemical, refining, chemical, and heavy industrial sectors. This is a key technical leadership position, focused on delivering high-quality civil and structural designs across the full project lifecycle.

The Senior Civil Structural Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering with PE licensure (NCEES record preferred)

• 15–25 years’ experience within heavy industrial environments (refining, chemical, fertilizer, pharma)

• Strong experience in the design of steel and concrete structures, including equipment foundations

• Proven capability using structural analysis tools such as STAAD.Pro, spMats, and spColumn

• Working knowledge of CAD tools – AutoCAD, MicroStation, BricsCAD

• Strong understanding of codes and standards – IBC, ASCE-7, OSHA, Florida Building Code

• Experience supporting site design – drainage, underground piping, sumps, and layouts

• Familiarity with NavisWorks and 3D laser scanning coordination

• Ability to produce and review detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and technical documentation

• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring engineers and coordinating multidisciplinary teams

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

The Senior Civil Structural Engineer’s role will involve:

• Leading civil and structural design activities across projects, including acting as Engineer of Record and sealing deliverables

• Generating and reviewing calculations, specifications, and engineering drawings

• Designing structural systems including steel frameworks, concrete structures, and foundations for industrial equipment

• Supporting site development activities including drainage systems and underground infrastructure

• Reviewing CAD deliverables and ensuring quality and compliance with project standards

• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient project execution

• Preparing project estimates, material take-offs, and staffing plans to support project controls

• Delivering technical documentation within schedule and budget constraints

• Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development and performance goals

• Supporting continuous improvement of engineering standards, procedures, and best practices
