What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Assistant position at Premier Glaucoma & Eye Center?
We are looking to hire an energetic and positive Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician for our beautiful solo practice in Flint township, MI. Job duties include utilizing ophthalmic techniques to perform preliminary patient work-ups, assisting the physician(s) during the patient examination, and documenting the patient encounter in the electronic medical record (EMR). Other duties include:
- Collecting and entering patient medical and ophthalmic history into the patient’s electronic medical record.
- Utilizing ophthalmological equipment and tools to perform preliminary work-ups.
- Performing ophthalmic testing including automated visual fields, OCTs and fundus photography.
- Preparing all examination rooms and ensuring the room is clean and stocked with supplies at all times.
- Assisting the physician(s) by completing accurate charting and documentation in the patients' electronic medical record.
- Adaptability to also work front office tasks including scheduling patient visits, verifying insurance, and collecting co-pays.
We are looking for a team player to join our friendly and supportive ophthalmic practice! Hours are Monday-Thursday, no weekends. Competitive pay.
