What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician position at Mid Michigan Retina PLC?
About Mid Michigan Retina PLC: we are a well established medical office serving Mid Michigan for more than 10 years; providing specialized eyecare for retinal diseases. It is a solo practice with 3 offices and 10 full time employees. We are well regarded for our high quality care in our communities we serve.
Currently we are seeking to hire an ophthalmic technician/medical scribe. We are willing to train an MA for ophthalmic techniques so no previous experience is required. The compensation will be based on experience and qualified skills. For experienced scribes or/and familiarity with Nextech EMR system wage will be higher. A minimum of two years of experience in an optometry or ophthalmic practice setting is highly preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates flexibility in job assignment
- Demonstrates experience in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Must be willing to travel when needed to all locations with provider (carpooling)
- Efficiently and accurately interviews patients and documents histories; ensures charts are updated and accurate
- Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, and ocular medications
- Experience with Visual Fields, Amslers, Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams
- Perform general duties and other functions as required or assigned
- Certifications are preferred but not required
- Experience with angiograms preferred but not required
- Medical scribe experience preferred but not required
