What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Sales Director position at Premier Executive Recruiting?
Director of Sales & Strategic Partnerships
Beauty Agency · Los Angeles, CA · Full-Time
About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing beauty agency that partners with leading beauty brands to drive meaningful results across product innovation, branding, and retail strategy. They work at the intersection of creativity and commerce — helping brand partners solve real business challenges with customized, results-driven solutions.
This is a highly entrepreneurial environment where big ideas are not just welcomed — they're expected. There's no rigid corporate ladder here. Every voice is heard, every idea gets airtime, and the best thinking rises to the top regardless of title. If you're someone who thrives on ownership, moves fast, and wants to see the direct impact of your work, this is the place for you.
With a strong growth trajectory and an expanding client roster, they're building out their team with strategic, commercially minded leaders who can help scale the business while continuing to deliver exceptional results for partners.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Director of Sales & Strategic Partnerships to join the team in a high-impact, hands-on role. This is a true B2B sales and client leadership position — part strategist, part relationship builder, part operator. You'll work directly with the executive team to shape and execute the company's sales strategy while also rolling up your sleeves to manage client relationships, oversee project delivery, and develop a growing LA-based sales team.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in beauty, fashion, or agency environments who understands the nuances of brand building, product innovation, and the retail landscape — and who can speak the language of beauty brand executives with credibility and confidence.
What You'll Do
Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Partner with the executive team to design and execute a scalable B2B sales strategy, identifying key growth levers across new verticals, client segments, and service offerings.
- Build and maintain accurate sales forecasts using pipeline data and historical performance, ensuring leadership has clear visibility into near and long-term revenue.
- Proactively identify emerging market opportunities, white space, and competitive trends to inform strategic decisions and stay ahead of industry shifts.
- Conduct structured needs analyses with prospective clients to deeply understand their business challenges — then develop and present customized solutions that speak directly to their goals.
- Lead compelling, insight-driven presentations and pitches to senior brand stakeholders, positioning the agency as a trusted strategic partner.
Client Relationship Management
- Cultivate and manage a portfolio of key client relationships, serving as a senior point of contact who brings both strategic perspective and day-to-day responsiveness.
- Developed and delivered consultative sales pitches and product demos to senior stakeholders
- Build genuine, long-term partnerships with beauty brand executives, marketing leads, and innovation teams — becoming a trusted extension of their business.
- Navigate complex client situations with poise — proactively addressing challenges, managing expectations, and consistently delivering on commitments.
- Drive client retention and expansion by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities that add real value to existing partnerships.
- Represent the agency at industry events, trade shows, and brand summits to deepen relationships and generate new business leads.
Project Oversight & Execution
- Own the end-to-end client experience, partnering closely with internal creative, production, and innovation teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on brief, and above expectations.
- Serve as the connective tissue between client needs and internal execution — translating brand objectives into clear, actionable project briefs.
- Identify bottlenecks and proactively problem-solve to keep projects moving, especially in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Support the scaling of the project management function as the agency grows, helping to define processes, templates, and tools that improve efficiency across the team.
Sales Process & Go-to-Market Optimization
- Contribute to pricing strategy, service positioning, and go-to-market planning based on client feedback, market intelligence, and competitive analysis.
- Collaborate with leadership on the development of sales collateral, pitch materials, and capability decks that clearly communicate the agency's value proposition.
- Leverage tools and data insights to improve forecasting accuracy, pipeline management, and overall sales team performance.
Who You Are
- You have 7 years of B2B sales or business development experience in beauty, fashion, or a related creative agency environment.
- You've partnered with brands on product innovation, branding, and/or retail strategy — and you understand what it takes to bring those projects to life.
- You're a natural relationship builder who can connect with C-suite executives and brand managers alike, earning trust quickly through insight and follow-through.
- You're an exceptional communicator — articulate and polished in presentations, proactive and clear in day-to-day client interactions.
- You thrive in ambiguity and bring structure to chaos. You don't need everything figured out before you take action.
- You're entrepreneurial at your core — motivated by ownership, energized by growth, and comfortable operating without a playbook.
- You're a collaborative leader who builds up the people around you while also being a strong individual contributor.
- You have a genuine passion for the beauty industry and keep a close pulse on brands, trends, and what's moving the market.
What's In It For You
- A seat at the table — you'll have direct access to leadership and a real voice in shaping the direction of the business.
- True ownership of your role, your clients, and your team, with the autonomy to build things the way you think they should be built.
- Fast growth trajectory with career advancement tied to your results and impact, not tenure.
- A collaborative, idea-first culture where the best thinking wins — no politics, no gatekeeping.
- Competitive base salary with performance-based incentives, commensurate with experience.
- The opportunity to be part of something that's growing quickly — and to grow right along with it.
