Chesapeake Montessori is a licensed schoolseeking Assistant Teachers for the Summer!
Age groups include: Toddlers, Preschool, and School Age
To beQUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED and the ability to pass all background checks. Previous early childhood education experience is required and Montessori experience is preferred.
Required Shift:Monday - Friday, 8:30:am - 5:30pm OR 8:00am 4:30pm
Dates: June 23th, 2026 - August 21st, 2026
Compensation: $15-$17 per hour; based on experience and education

- Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
- Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
- Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
- Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
- Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
- Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
