Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Assist with chairside procedures, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments such as sealants or fluoride applications
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Utilize dental software systems like Dentrix for documentation and appointment scheduling
- Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and clinic cleanliness
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice
- Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings preferred
- Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards.
- Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during patient care
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient needs
- Familiarity with dental coding practices related to dental services is a must.
