Unarmed Security Officer

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires strong observational skills, the ability to manage conflicts effectively, and a proactive approach to security measures. The Security Officer will monitor premises through surveillance systems, conduct regular patrols, and respond to incidents as they arise.

Duties

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises.
• Conduct regular patrols of the property to deter and detect signs of intrusion or unauthorized activity.
• Utilize CCTV systems to observe and report any suspicious activities or violations.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies while following established protocols.
• Implement conflict management techniques to de-escalate situations effectively.
• Prepare detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and observations for record-keeping purposes.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Provide first aid or CPR assistance as needed in emergency situations.
• Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying potential theft risks and implementing preventive measures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certification is preferred.
• Previous experience in law enforcement or security roles is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of surveillance techniques and equipment operation (CCTV).
• Ability to manage conflicts with professionalism and composure.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with loss prevention strategies is a plus.
• Must possess a valid security certificate where applicable.
• Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergencies.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
