Summary: 

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to provide legal oversight and strategic direction for the firm's litigation practice. This role requires significant litigation experience, a background in banking or finance law, strong compliance judgment, and the ability to manage a variety of cases from inception through resolution.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide legal oversight and strategic direction for the firm's litigation matters.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of banking litigation matters.
  • Ensure strict compliance with state, federal, and regulatory laws.
  • Handle specialized cases (e.g., judicial foreclosure, probate, title curative matters).
  • Monitor regulatory changes and recommend process modifications.
  • Provide legal guidance to operational staff on litigation-related issues.
  • Review and approve procedural changes for legal soundness.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to support department goals.
  • May occasionally work extended hours based on operational needs.

 

Experience and Skills: 

  •  Minimum of 3 years of active litigation experience.
  • Proven expertise in contested default and banking/mortgage servicing litigation.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior organizational and case management skills.
  • High proficiency in legal research (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.).

 

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • Admission to practice before all four Texas federal district courts preferred.

 

Work Schedule:

The work week is typically Monday through Friday, with business hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Employees are required to be onsite 2-3 days per week following a 90-day training period and upon management approval.

 

Salary Range:

The salary for this position typically ranges from $98,000 - $128,000, depending on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and business needs.
