Paint Technician Level 2

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Aircraft Paint Technician 2, at our Dayton, OH location. This position will report to The General Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely perform aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing of aircraft under minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, signoffs and quality specifications using Corridor.
• Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as dual action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms and paint sprayers. Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools.
• Have some knowledge of the stripe laying out process
• Apply glazing and sealing compounds in preparation for final painting.
• Mix paints and primers.
• Perform leading edge sealant work in final detail.
• Comply with all safety and housekeeping policies. Use personal protective equipment and ensure the aircraft interior is protected (PTP).
• Be able to create complete paint prep work including chemical stripping and sanding on various forms of substrates (aluminum, composite, steel, stainless steel, etc.)
• Properly care for and maintain paint shop equipment and tools as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• FAA A&P License preferred R&R flight control and balance experience.
• Must be team oriented, self-driven and safety conscious
• Must be goal-oriented and driven to meet and/or exceed quality expectations.
• Must have problem-solving skills.
• Must demonstrate positive behavior and attitude.
• Must have 5 or more years aviation paint and/or autobody painting experience
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently to meet FAA Regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
• Able to pass Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification.
• Ability to use standard aircraft mechanics tools, equipment, and materials in the aircraft painting process.
• Able to climb ladders and stairs, perform close tolerance work, work in small spaces, lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to work at heights to include from a 20’ ladder.
• Knowledge of Corridor Maintenance Program, and Microsoft Office programs
• A working knowledge of paint processes and products (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics).
