We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Aircraft Paint Technician 2, at our Dayton, OH location. This position will report to The General Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely perform aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing of aircraft under minimal supervision.
- Coordinate with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, signoffs and quality specifications using Corridor.
- Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as dual action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms and paint sprayers. Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools.
- Have some knowledge of the stripe laying out process
- Apply glazing and sealing compounds in preparation for final painting.
- Mix paints and primers.
- Perform leading edge sealant work in final detail.
- Comply with all safety and housekeeping policies. Use personal protective equipment and ensure the aircraft interior is protected (PTP).
- Be able to create complete paint prep work including chemical stripping and sanding on various forms of substrates (aluminum, composite, steel, stainless steel, etc.)
- Properly care for and maintain paint shop equipment and tools as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- FAA A&P License preferred R&R flight control and balance experience.
- Must be team oriented, self-driven and safety conscious
- Must be goal-oriented and driven to meet and/or exceed quality expectations.
- Must have problem-solving skills.
- Must demonstrate positive behavior and attitude.
- Must have 5 or more years aviation paint and/or autobody painting experience
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently to meet FAA Regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
- Able to pass Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification.
- Ability to use standard aircraft mechanics tools, equipment, and materials in the aircraft painting process.
- Able to climb ladders and stairs, perform close tolerance work, work in small spaces, lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to work at heights to include from a 20’ ladder.
- Knowledge of Corridor Maintenance Program, and Microsoft Office programs
- A working knowledge of paint processes and products (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics).
