Position Summary
Healthy Relationships for Life (HRL) is an education program, currently serving five high schools in Wilson County, TN.
The HRL Education Assistant reports to the Education Program Director and supports the development, implementation, and execution of the HRL program. This includes presenting HRL curriculum to partner schools, churches and other community organizations, and assisting with administrative and program-related responsibilities.
The position is part-time during the school year, with hours primarily during the school day. Additional part-time hours may be available during the summer or when school is not in session, depending on program needs. Compensation is to be determined by the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
I. Administration
- Assist the Education Program Director with scheduling presentations and coordinating volunteers
- Assist with recordkeeping and data tracking
- Assist in evaluating, selecting, and maintaining educational materials and program resources
- Communicate regularly with the Education Program Director regarding program needs, progress, challenges, and goals
II. Training
- Shadow the Education Program Director to learn the curriculum
- Team teach with the Education Program Director until comfortable independently delivering the curriculum
III. Direct Services
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the HRL curriculum, including classroom technology, presentation and support materials, and data collection processes
- Enter and manage program data, including survey results and participation metrics, using Excel
- Assist in updating curriculum content based on current research and program needs
- Deliver HRL presentations in partner schools, churches, or other community organizations
Minimum Qualifications
- A committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
- Strong commitment to the pro-life position and to promoting sexual integrity
- Agreement with and willingness to uphold the PCC’s Commitment of Care and Competence, Core Values, Statement of Faith, and organizational policies
- Understanding of the challenges faced by youth ages 10–19 and the ability to effectively relate to this age group
- Strong skills in interpersonal communication, public speaking, leadership, teaching, and problem-solving
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a helping field) or equivalent related experience
- Minimum one year of experience serving in some ministry capacity (volunteer or staff)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in a helping profession in a position requiring administrative skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, PowerPoint, and Excel; willingness to learn Canva
- Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
