What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precision CNC Machinist & CAM Programmer (Mills/Lathes) position at Preferred Utilities?

If dialing in a mill or lathe, proving out a program, and gauging parts to the print sounds like your element, you’ll fit right in.
In this role, you will:
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling and turning machines to produce precision components.
- Inspect completed work with bench gauging to confirm parts meet specifications.
- Follow Standard Work without compromise—covering setup/operation, process verification, inspection, documentation, and material handling.
- Carry out light preventative maintenance to keep equipment reliable and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Immediately report safety violations, equipment misusage, or improperly performed work to your supervisor, and contribute input that may guide corrective action, including discipline.
- Work as a strong team player who maintains positive relationships with co‑workers.
- Engage in all safety and hazardous material handling/disposal practices per regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work environment that meets internal compliance standards.
- Use PPE (shoes, eyewear, gloves, masks, shields, and coats) if needed.
- Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations.
- Complete testing and adjustments of parts, as needed, to achieve final requirements.
- Identify and replace parts when necessary to sustain quality and throughput.
- Handle other tasks as required to support production.
