Duties
- Manage daily shop operations, including scheduling, workflow, and inventory control to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Lead and motivate a team of technicians and service staff, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback
- Oversee tire service operations, including tire installation, rotation, balancing, and repair, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards
- Perform and supervise automotive repairs such as oil changes, alignments, brake services, and vehicle maintenance tasks
- Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately and recommend appropriate solutions
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform repairs and maintenance efficiently
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies at all times
- Build strong relationships with customers, addressing inquiries, explaining services, and promoting additional sales opportunities
- Manage shop supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and availability for daily operations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and customer interactions for reporting and billing purposes
- Support sales initiatives by educating customers on automotive services, upselling maintenance packages, and promoting tire and vehicle care products
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or automotive service background with a strong understanding of automotive repair and diagnostics
- Extensive mechanic experience with hands-on expertise in vehicle maintenance, tire service, and alignment procedures
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical components
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in automotive repair
- Customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required for tire installation and vehicle maintenance
- Experience in sales and upselling automotive services and products
- Strong organizational skills to manage shop operations, inventory, and documentation
- Leadership qualities to motivate and develop a team of technicians and service staff
- Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Service technician experience and familiarity with automotive service workflows preferred
